"Dirty" is at it again. The Father-of-the-Nevada-Gaming-Commission, sometime-Senator (D), and full-time blow-hard, self-proclaimed "I am not a gangster....or a crook", "Dirty Harry" Reid told the National Press Club today that the President "cannot attack Iran or Syria without Congressional approval"....
Ohhhh-kay....
I guess Steve Wynn has been spiking the free drinks extra heavy this week in Vegas. Earth to Dirty: Sober UP!!!
Hey, Dirtbag....errr, "Dirty", did you forget that little piece of legislation that you and 98 other senators all voted on??? (yes, even the human fart himself, Ted Kennedy, voted "yes") You know, the one that every House member but one voted for? The same one that ALL Senators voted for (two weren't present)?
Here, Dinky....errr, "DIRTY"....let me remind your sauced brain.
.....Oh wait....you're a Mormon now, that's right. I almost forgot. I remember now, ...you converted to Mormonism to get the massive LDS vote in Clark County. So, 'Dirty Doesn't Drink' now? (LOL!!) Or, 'Does Dirty Drink'? Perhaps...."Dirty-Jack-Mormon",....Dirty? Dirty Dinky Jack, Dirty Harry Jack...Dirty Dinky Dork... Good Lord!!! I just can't keep you legal land-baron's nicknames straight! Oh well...I'll live.
Now where were we? Ah, yes......a LAW. Yeah, that law about the President and his authority to blast Iran. Here we are:
Authorization for Use of Military Force
September 18, 2001
Public Law 107-40 [S. J. RES. 23]
107th CONGRESS
To authorize the use of United States Armed Forces against those responsible for the recent attacks launched against the United States.
Whereas, on September 11, 2001, acts of treacherous violence were committed against the United States and its citizens; and
Whereas, such acts render it both necessary and appropriate that the United States exercise its rights to self-defense and to protect United States citizens both at home and abroad; and
Whereas, in light of the threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States posed by these grave acts of violence; and
Whereas, such acts continue to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States; and
Whereas, the President has authority under the Constitution to take action to deter and prevent acts of international terrorism against the United States: Now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This joint resolution may be cited as the `Authorization for Use of Military Force'.
SEC. 2. AUTHORIZATION FOR USE OF UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES.
(a) IN GENERAL- That the President is authorized to use all necessary and appropriate force against those nations, organizations, or persons he determines planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, or harbored such organizations or persons, in order to prevent any future acts of international terrorism against the United States by such nations, organizations or persons.
(b) War Powers Resolution Requirements-
(1) SPECIFIC STATUTORY AUTHORIZATION- Consistent with section 8(a)(1) of the War Powers Resolution, the Congress declares that this section is intended to constitute specific statutory authorization within the meaning of section 5(b) of the War Powers Resolution.
Thus endeth the argument.
"Wait, wait, wait, wait, Tyger!!!! YOU ARE WRONG!!!! We've got'cha this time!!! Read above, sucker,....'The War Powers Act'. That's the law that makes it the realm of Congress to declare war and gives Congress the power to withdraw troops from overseas at any time. The one they passed over Nixon's veto in 1973. Ahahahahaha!!!! Tyger is wrong!!!!"
Ummm, ...no Chumley. And try to get a grip before I cut-off your Kool-aid. Having anticipated your incredibly stupid and obtuse line of libby-reason, I can now finish off your untimely debate demise, not to mention Dirty Jack-Harry's absurd and uninformed opinions about the powers of the Congress. Observe libtards:
The War Powers Act of 1973
Public Law 93-148
93rd Congress, H. J. Res. 542

- SEC. 2. (b)
- Under article I, section 8, of the Constitution, it is specifically provided that the Congress shall have the power to make all laws necessary and proper for carrying into execution, not only its own powers but also all other powers vested by the Constitution in the Government of the United States, or in any department or officer thereof.
- SEC. 2. (c)

(hehehehehehe)....I love doing this....
So Solly, Cholly.....you libtards lose again. Dirty is lying to you. The President can use the military to attack Iran any time he so chooses, since Iran has been openly supporting the "insurgents" (aka Al Queda to sane people) for QUITE some time now.
: D
Opppppth.
